"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give"

Community service is an activity that engages students with real-life solutions to strengthen communities.

Community service is to "awaken students to their immense potential and the diffence they can make in the world".  The CSHJH Community Service requirement for Honor Society challenges students to expand their definition of "community" to involve a larger portion of their world than just their school or their family.  Additionally, it helps students realize that their contribution can make a difference, while also fostering a habit of service.  Through Community Service, students also have the opportunity to pursue their interests, meet potential mentors, and develop skills and contacts that will help them well into the future.  Students will be informed of both school and community related opportunities as the year progresses through Mr. Homer's Homepage.  (Some of the opportunities are for HS students only).  **Confirm the service opportunity will count toward Honor Society credit first by asking the advisor.

Upcoming Community Service Opportunities can be found on Mr. Homer's Homepage under the Community Service Link
