    It is SPIRIT DAY tomorrow!

    Monday, April 16, 2018

I do know how to spell assessments. Ugh! Just caught my own typo. Have a great week!

    Thursday, April 12, 2018

The children did a masterful job with regard to their introduction to the state tests. The assessments were rather lengthy, but the children rose to the occasion. I was quite impressed with their fortitude. You should be proud of them as well as they gave their all to the tasks placed before them. Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

    Monday, April 9 2018

The NYS English Language Arts assessment will occur on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest, eats a good breakfast, and arrives at school on time. No stress! No worries! :)

    Friday, March 23, 2018

Talent Show Monday! Please make sure to have your child wear his/her Talent Show t-shirt to school on Monday.

    Friday, March 16, 2018

ELA Vocabulary 2 is up on the website for this week. I will also have the children copy the definitions on Monday. These are words they may find in the questions posed (an ELA word, by the way) on the NYS test.

    Tuesday, March 13, 2018

ELA Vocabulary (words and defs) will be taking the place of Spelling for 3 weeks. Quizzes will occur on Fridays. This week the children copied the definitions on Monday and were asked to place their definitions in their Homework folders.

    Friday, March 9, 2018

Note: There will be no spelling assignments for the next few weeks in order to devote a little more time to reading and mathematics.

Looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences. Make sure you've signed up. See the SignUpGenius image above.

    Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018

I have begun uploading the US President oral report videos to the website. They are FANTASTIC! Please see the tab in the navigation bar. Let me know if you don't want your child's video on the site and/or if you experience a problem with the video. As I've said before, I'm trying to find my way around the new website. Thank you!

Also, please sign up for a Parent/Teacher Conference. They're coming up mighty quickly!

    Feb. 9, 2018

US President oral report and bio-wheel are due Monday! I hope the children (and you) are having fun with the project.

    Feb. 2, 2018

Just a reminder that the US President oral report and biography wheel are due next Monday, Feb. 12. It's time for the students to wrap up their research and start putting the project together.

    Jan. 19, 2018

US President Report - The outline for the President report was handed out today. It is due Feb. 12. It includes a biography wheel and an oral report. Please review the outline with your child, sign the front page, and have him/her return it to school next week as we will do much of the research in school. However, the final project (putting it all together) will be completed at home. The outline is located on the US President tab in the Navigation Bar. This is such a fun project!

    K6TMM - Scholastic Code

Math Test rescheduled for Tuesday, January 9, 2018 - Spelling Test will be Friday - see Calendar.  Enjoy the snow days! Keep reading and logging in.

    Wednesday, January 3, 2018

FYI - If there is a snow day tomorrow (Thursday), the class voted to keep the Math test on Friday. I suggested the students study pages 349-352 in the workbook to help prepare for the test. I also put up Thursday's homework with some review pages.

    Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Happy New Year and Welcome Back. As you can see, we have a new website. I'm in the process of learning how it works. Please let me know if there's something I can do to help you navigate it as well. We will learn together!

Looking for a book? Here's a link to a website I came across a couple of years ago. I'm sure many of you know some of these titles already. Click here.

Birthday Celebrations - We have a no-food policy at school. You are welcome to bring in a small craft for your fellow students. Perhaps a family member would like to read a picture book to the class? Or, maybe you'd like to do nothing at all. You decide - just run it by me first. Thanks.

Any changes in dismissal during the school day need to be made through the main office. I may not always get to my emails during the day. Thank you!

Reading Logs are due EVERY school day! Students must read 6 days/week for at least 30-40 minutes. Encourage your children to read a variety of genres. Happy reading!
