Gratitude Day Sharing notes of thanks…

“We didn’t mean to make you cry!” But each bus driver was certainly moved to tears as they were handed a bag of personal thank you notes from the students at Lloyd Harbor School just days before the Thanksgiving holiday. One driver said, “I can’t read these now, I’m already crying and I need to drive this bus!” It was a day of heartfelt joy and humble surprises, as each group of staff members were given a bag full of thank you notes on “Gratitude Day” at LHS on November 22nd. Custodians, cafeteria workers, security guards and lunch aides gathered throughout the day for a secret surprise. It doesn’t get much better than this, as we all look ahead to the Thanksgiving holiday. The kids wrote so many precious cards: they thanked the security guards for “keeping us safe, and standing outside in the cold,”, the custodians “for being so kind, we love coming into a school that is so clean and bright,” and the café staff “for making my favorite meals like waffles and bacon which makes me so happy!” The messages shared were greeted by smiles that touched a lot of hearts today. There is really no greater gift than a simple thank you, written on a handmade card. Priceless!
