The Long Island String Festival Association (LISFA) offers selected students in Nassau and Suffolk County the opportunity to perform in a select ensemble. All 5th through 12th grade students are eligible for selection based on their New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) scores and teacher recommendations. The students chosen culminate their experience by participating in two rehearsals and a concert. This year, Emily Redden and Charlotte Wenk represented Lloyd Harbor School; Olivia Pienkowski and Jessica Ye represented West Side School; Isabella Garra, Charlotte Ziegler, Annabelle Coles, Cristabella Cardone, Jakub Pienkowski, Melina Kelly, Catherine Ziegler and Elizabeth Zahn represented the Jr/Sr High School at LISFA. All of the rehearsals and the performances took place at Uniondale High School. Congratulations to our talented string students. What a great way to kick off Music in our Schools Month!
