SuperHero Institute Day
What a wonderful experience Goosehill students had on April 27 at the SuperHero Institute Day! Learning from the HEROES in our very own community is simply the best! Twenty-Five community members came in to teach students about a myriad of topics! It is all part of the Goosehill H.E.R.O. acronym which stands for Honesty, Empathy, Respect and Openheartednes; these values are embedded into the daily curriculum at Goosehill. Thank you to our School Improvement Team (SIT) for organizing the event and all who presented at the various classroom workshops. The children were full of enthusiasm and excitement about all they learned today. Workshops included Policeman, Fireman, Construction workers, Bridge Building, Scientists, Doctors, Wildlife Rescue, Attorneys, News Reporting and a special visit from our Superintendent! Other topics included “Why Sleep is Important,” “How to Save and Use Money Wisely,” “Individuality and Sportsmanship” from CSH varsity athletes and so much more! Our youngest especially loved listening to their older peers from the Social Action Club who talked about overcoming challenges and how to learn ways of coping (like breathing techniques) from each other. The kids asked many questions, laughed, learned and had opportunities for hands-on experiences. Thank you to our fabulous community for sharing your skills and knowledge. SuperHero Institute Day is truly one of the best days of the year at Goosehill. Please ask your children to tell you about all they learned!
