The Junior Natural Helpers Club held their annual retreat on Saturday November 23rd. The students are selected by their elementary school and junior high teachers, guidance counselors, administrators, and mental health staff. The students go through trainings during the retreat and will continue during the school year. This years training included sessions regarding good listening skills, inclusion, hurtful words, crisis situations, empathy, reliable resources, and understanding that every person may have things going on in their life that we are not aware of. Assistant Principal, Ms. Waters. was an important part of this years training. She let the students know she was available to them at anytime and wanted them to know she wants to help! Ms. Mauriello and Mr. Homer are the club advisors and are very proud of this years group.
