The Lloyd Harbor Lion King Jr. production was truly a show stopper! Simba may have been practicing his “roar” but it was the roar of the crowd and standing ovation that defined this incredible performance. The Pridelands came to life, with costumes, make up, dance, design and lighting that set the stage for a magical experience at Pride Rock. Kudos to Director, Mr. Chris McKee, and Choreography/Musical Staging by, Ms. Jojo Conley. Mr. McKee was so grateful for the invaluable support of so many volunteers who made it all happen. He shared, “These students were pushed, pressed and challenged to stretch their legs further than they thought possible. They exceeded all of our wildest expectations and that is solely because of their hard work, dedication and strength of character.” His heartfelt thanks also went out to all the high school student volunteers, all of whom were former Lloyd Harbor theater actors themselves! Talk about the “circle of life,” these 12th grade students came full circle connecting their elementary school training, by bringing their talents and support to our youngest 5th and 6th grade actors. Thank you to the talented pit and stage crew; stage manager, Ashley Danielski; set design by Laura Cirino; Technical Director, Yuriy Zachariah; lighting by JT Thompson; sound by Margaret Diehl, and so many parents who helped. Hakuna Matata!
