Spreading Kindness Nursing Home Notes Showing care and respect for senior citizens is a lesson our youngest students are learning due to a SIT (School Improvement Team) project this year at Goosehill. SIT members felt that elderly citizens residing at local nursing homes would enjoy the writing and drawings by young children. Just a simple note of kindness can bring joy to someone’s day! Because Goosehill students are Super Heroes----learning about honesty, empathy, respect, and open-heartedness, they created beautiful cards with bright pictures and kind words to be delivered to local nursing homes. To inspire the children, teachers read pictures books exemplifying empathy and respect in relationships between children and seniors, such as Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge, by Mem Fox (about a boy who helps an elderly friend to regain some of her memory). Thank you Goosehill students for being so kind and open-hearted!
