BEACH CLEAN UP - CSH Marine Biology Class

Taylor Carlin (Class of 2012) along with science teacher, Ms. Erin Oshan, held a beach clean-up at West Neck Beach on November 7th. 67 students ranging from 7th to 12th grade were in attendance. Ms. Oshan reported, “We collected over 50lbs of trash from the beach, marsh area and causeway. Taylor volunteers with the organization, Green Sakthi, based out of India and provided the students with 2 hours of community service for helping. Taylor completed her Bachelors in Marine Biology from Clemson University and has spent the past 2 years living in Australia. She was working as a SCUBA instructor on the Great Barrier Reef and a naturalist when not on board. She has spoken to the Marine Bio club as a guest speaker and I wanted to thank her for her dedication and giving back to the CSH community and students. She credits her Marine Bio class in high school and her experience on a field trip to discover SCUBA as her inspiration for her passions.”
