Dr. Michael Andrews, was nominated for the 2021 National Speech and Debate Association Educator of the Year award. “This is a truly deserved honor indeed,” said Director of Humanities, Theresa Donohue, “your years of dedication to the students and the program deserves to be recognized!” Anonymous student letters of recommendation are sent to the National Speech & Debate Association, siting their coaches service to their students, their school, their community, and the national organization. Coaches receive points for every merit point earned through competition, service, and leadership activities, which represent dedicated coaching and hours of practice, revision, and growth for students. In the past, Dr. Andrews has been awarded the degree of Premier Distinction as a Coach from the National Speech and Debate Association and his Assistant Coach, CSH teacher, Jeanne Glynn, has been awarded the degree of Distinction as a Coach from the NSDA by virtue of the team's large number of competitors and our team's successful participation in a large number of tournaments. Dr. Andrews shared, “This year we have continued with all of our regular tournaments, except virtually through a Zoom-like platform called NSDA Campus.
