Earth Day Crafts at Lloyd Harbor: Ms. Barrese’s third graders learned how Earth Day is celebrated globally every year on April 22nd to bring awareness to the environment and the ways that we can help protect it. (It was actually the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020). Students broke up into groups and researched different topics, including pollution, climate change, loss of natural habitat for animals and plants, and decreasing fresh water supplies. Students decorated crafts including placemats and mini clay pot planters. They presented their findings on FlipGrids and shared their knowledge with their fellow classmates. Thank you for teaching us the earth needs our help…Happy Earth Day!
