Students at both Lloyd Harbor and West Side are participating in a Global Eco-Citizenship project called “Sky Day Fridays” which celebrate our climate and sky and educate students on what our climate means and does for us all. Ms. Baratta shared, “We will discuss what its vulnerabilities are and what day to day positive actions in our community we can do to preserve all of earth's systems. Students will create a gallery of photographs of the sky at different times of the day, write poetry, and create model collages of the moon's view of the earth. They will even be entered into a contest to win an interview with an astronaut for these projects.” Here, fifth grade students at West Side in Ms. Mary Baratta’s class, can be seen photographing the sky for this project. The students will also be working collaboratively with Ms. Diehl, technology specialist, in the Creative Learning Lab to complete the project. Stay tuned!
