Musical “Beauty & the Beast, Jr.”

WOW! This was a night to remember! Lloyd Harbor students gave a showstopping performance of the production "Beauty & the Beast, Jr." on June 16 and 17 at the PAC. This group of extremely talented performers had everyone shaking their heads that they were only in 5th and 6th grade. The voices, the costumes and choreography, the set design, the humor, and even the behind-the-scenes speed and efficiency of the backstage crew were extraordinary. Of note, was a very special tribute to former Lloyd Harbor Theater Arts Director, Katie Maloney. She was presented with flowers and heartfelt recognition for her 40 years of dedication to the arts at Lloyd Harbor School. Chris McKee gratefully expressed, “Thank you for taking a chance on a 21 year old kid eight years ago to continue your legacy.” Mr. McKee, along with Choreographer/Musical Staging Assistant, JoJo Conley, have made the LH Theater Arts program thrive! Mr. McKee also thanked all the parents, whose support each year is invaluable. He shared with the audience that it was extremely hard to believe that these were fifth and sixth graders on the stage...their dedication, passion and talent were not to be believed! To the entire cast….we were so happy to “Be Your Guest!”
