Little Mermaid Jr. Lloyd Harbor Musical
The Lloyd Harbor Theater Arts production of “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” can best be described in one word…WOW! This magical journey “Under the Sea” took place on November 16-17 to packed houses and standing ovations. The stage was transformed into an ocean of sea creatures, lagoons, sailing ships and of course the darkest depths of Ursula’s Lair. The crowd sang along with their favorite characters like Sebastian and Ariel to Disney favorites, “Kiss the Girl,” “Part of Your World,” and “She’s In Love.” Filled with dance numbers, frightening storms and hilarious moments that had everyone laughing, it’s hard to believe this production was made up of only 5th and 6th graders! From the actors to the stage crew, everyone did outstanding work under the guidance of Director, Christopher McKee and Choreographer, JoJo Conley. Congratulations to the entire cast, crew, production staff, musicians, lighting, sound and set designers, costumers and everyone else who made this production a truly memorable one! Brent Chiarello, K-12 Music Chairperson, shared, “Each year Cold Spring Harbor re-defines what an elementary school musical can be. It’s so wonderful to see the children have so much pride in their production, and I take solace in knowing these are memories that will stay with our students throughout their time at Cold Spring Harbor and beyond.”
