Harvard Club Distinguished Teacher Awards Honoring Elana Axelrod, April Henry and Anthony Pesca

Cold Spring Harbor Central School District is pleased to announce that three of our teachers were selected for the 2023 Harvard Club Distinguished Teacher Award Program. Each year, the Harvard Club of Long Island (HCLI) asks current Harvard undergraduates to nominate a teacher who made the greatest difference in their lives (anonymous). The Harvard Club interviews hundreds of student applicants to Harvard College and they hear about many wonderful teachers from grateful students and parents. This honor recognizes select teachers from across the 125 districts of Long Island who are honored by the HCLI. Congratulations to Elana Axelrod, April Henry and Anthony Pesca! This award honors teachers who transform lives. Out of all the recognitions, the HCLI further selects and invites approximately 12 recipients to the annual Harvard Club Distinguished Teacher luncheon for an award ceremony. This honor was bestowed upon April Henry, who attended the ceremony on March 18 where Harvard Professor, Alexis Redding, delivered the keynote address. Out of the 12 Distinguished Teachers honored on March 18, one was selected as a finalist for a Harvard fellowship. CSHCSD is very proud of our teachers, and we congratulate Ms. Axelrod, Ms. Henry and Mr. Pesca on this exemplary honor!
