Graduates Walk the Hallways of Their Elementary Schools

Jr./Sr. High Principal, Daniel Danbusky, was excited to spearhead a new initiative for the graduating seniors this year. After witnessing senior students’ emotional reactions to seeing their elementary teachers at the Districtwide Sports Charity Night in March, Mr. Danbusky began planning a “senior walk” down the halls of their elementary schools prior to graduation. Alumnae of Lloyd Harbor and West Side Schools travelled by bus in caps and gowns to pay homage to their former teachers and walk the halls again six years later.

MakerSpace Inventions by LHS 5th graders….

Lloyd Harbor's Little Theater was bursting with creativity on Tuesday morning as fifth graders shared their MakerSpace projects with their families and each other. Throughout the month of May and into early June, students worked in the Creative Learning Lab with their classroom teachers and Library Media Specialist Whitney O'Donnell to create many different projects, ranging from stop motion videos to lip balm and battery-run boats and cars.

Tenure Granted

Congratulations to Ashley Duddy, Kerry Markin and Kristine Romanelli (tenure area of Elementary Education) Randi Solis (tenure area of Teaching Assistant) and Lauren Spatola (tenure area of Special Education) who were granted tenure at the recommendation of the Superintendent at the June 13 Board of Education meeting.

Junior Book Awards

At the June 13 Board of Education meeting, fifteen students were presented with 2023 Junior Book Awards by the Assistant Superintendent for Counseling, Student Services & Human Resources, Mona E. Hecht, designated by colleges to Juniors with the highest levels of academic achievement.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team Crowned NY State Champs! Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team who pulled off a back-to-back State Championship title on June 11 at Hofstra University with a score of 12-5 defeating Marcellus in the Class D Championship.

2023 National Spanish Examinations HONORS

2023 National Spanish Examinations HONORS Congratulations to several Spanish students from Cold Spring Harbor Jr./Sr. High School who attained national recognition for their performance on the 2023 National Spanish Examinations in Levels 2 and 4. Señorita Rivadeneyra and Señora Segura enrolled their Spanish 2 Honors students to take the level 2 exam & Señora Coniglio and Señora Segura enrolled their Spanish 4 Honors students to take the level 4 version of the exam.

Hunting-TONY Awards

The 13th annual Hunting-TONY Award Ceremony was held on June 5, where they rolled out the red-carpet event at Huntington High School. This celebration recognizes the fall plays and spring musicals from the Town of Huntington’s nine public high schools and honors the casts, crews, and school personnel that make them happen.

Family Feud The Lloyd Harbor Survey Says….

As a culmination to our LHTV 10-year Anniversary celebrations, students and staff participated in an LHS version of the iconic game show Family Feud! Physical Education teacher, Joseph Toscano, served as host, and each grade was pitted against each other in teams of five facing off to guess the results of audience survey questions.
