Art Exhibit Al Fresco style!

A new initiative was on display at Lloyd Harbor School on June 12 which highlighted the extraordinary artwork of fifth and sixth grade students. This outdoor gallery in the courtyard, accompanied by student musicians on string instruments, made for an enchanting entrance into an evening of art under the setting sun. Art teacher Andria McLaughlin, in conjunction with the School Improvement Team (SIT), hosted a stand-alone art show featuring creations done in pencil and paper, clay, pastels, digital artwork, and more! Students and their families were invited to tour the outdoor gallery, but most impressive were the interactive student led stations to explain the process of creating each genre of art in real time. What a fabulous way to showcase not only what students created, but “how” they created it!
