Self Portraits and Growth Mindset

At Lloyd Harbor, the hallways are a magical land of colors bursting on bulletin boards with lessons to share! Fourth graders created character trait self-portraits, then analyzed and discussed similarities and differences with their classmates. Here Angela Genova’s students proudly display their works of art! Julie Coopers third graders were also happy to showcase their Growth Mindset bulletin board, where you can stop and “read how our minds grow.” Students outlined ideas on what they would like to improve upon both inside and outside of school. Some examples in school were improving organization, reading or math skills – and one hoped to be more optimistic because optimism makes you successful! Outside of school one student hoped to get better at drums so he could be as great as his dad, while another really wanted to work at eating healthier with better snack choices than candy and cake. These all sound like great decision-making skills – good luck!
