#CSHUnites for World Kindness Day - Gratitude is a Superpower!

This #CSHUnites collaboration was celebrated all week honoring World Kindness Day on November 13. Students participated in many heartfelt moments of kindness and gratitude just prior to the Thanksgiving break. The goal districtwide was to further the message of creating an inclusive and kind community. This “chain” reaction of kindness literally was built with paper chains of kindness messages written by students and hung in hallways and at the district office. Kindness Grams were also a beloved activity where students secretly wrote messages to classmates, staff or family members - bringing joy to each other with positive, caring words.

In addition, the Jr./Sr. High Social Action Club took their second annual field trip to Goosehill during Kindness Week where club members expressed how rewarding it is to have the chance to connect with first graders. Warmly welcomed by Principal Christina Cosme, and School Psychologist Kristin Schmid, they brought these peer mentors together to guide conversations about gratitude and engage with them during hands-on activities (which included a video on the concept of gratitude, paper leaves with words of gratitude, and notecards). The social action members assisted first-graders to hand-deliver these personalized notecards to someone they are grateful for at Goosehill.
Thank you to the Social Action Club members, and advisors Dr. Beth Chase and Dr. Kerrie Vujeva, for supporting the CSH Unites initiative and spearheading this project connecting with our district's youngest students.

Thank you to all the students who role modeled the gift of kindness and showed us that being kind is the best gift to give back! The administration and Board of Education extended their gratitude and pride to all the school building staff and students for supporting this CSH Unites initiative. Kindness truly is contagious!
