Retirement Wishes

At the May 14 Board of Education meeting, 11 Retirees were honored. On behalf of the Board and the administrative team, all were recognized followed by a gathering of celebration and congratulatory wishes and cake. For the many years dedicated to the Cold Spring Harbor School District, we wish you much happiness in your retirement and thank you for the many contributions you have made to Cold Spring Harbor. Superintendent, Jill M. Gierasch shared, “Over the years, we have all worked with you in various capacities and have shared in your enthusiasm for your work. It has been our pleasure to get to know you personally and professionally. Indeed, you are a caring group of educators and staff members who are held in the highest esteem. I know the staff and students will miss you and the legacy you all leave behind. It is our sincere hope your retirement years will bring you joy and fulfillment. Congratulations!” Thank you to all the recipients who were each honored in a special program booklet detailing their career and service. The eleven retirees honored were: Nancy Fastuca (15 years, WS Aide), Jill M. Gierasch ( 3 years, CSHCSD Superintendent), Marty Glynn (38-year career, Science Teacher), Donna Gurtowski (20 years, GH Nurse), Mona Hecht (3 years, CSHCSD Assistant Superintendent for Counseling, Student Services and Human Resources), Jean Luna (8 years, District Office Transportation), Valerie Massimo (16 years, Principal Lloyd Harbor School), Patrick McHugh (15 years, Maintenance Mechanic), Dr. Wendy Moss (30 years, School Psychologist), Paul Smith (33 years, Custodian district wide), and Doris Sposato (16 years, WS Teacher Aide). In the words of Fred Rogers, “Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” Wishing everyone the very best in their next chapter of life!
