Message from the Principal
West Side School is a community that supports our students in becoming self-driven, life-long learners. The dedicated faculty works to provide a strong education that adheres to New York State Common Core standards. They also enrich students by challenging them to develop skills that will help them to be successful today and in the ever-changing world. Students are encouraged to think critically, be creative, work cooperatively, and to become leaders. All of this is possible given the caring environment of West Side School, in which each individual is respected and valued. Such an environment fosters strong bonds among faculty, staff, students and the community, making West Side a special place to learn and grow.
Outside the classroom, students are provided a number of opportunities to get involved in activities, including the arts, music, and sports. The support of the West Side School Parent Teacher Group allows our students to be active within the community and with their peers in various grades.
The commitment of all who are a part of West Side is evident in the spirit and culture within our school. As Principal of West Side School, I believe it is important to maintain an open dialogue and therefore encourage all community members to contact me without hesitation.
