At West Side School, the Pologruto family has raised awareness and worked in collaboration with the student council for a very important fundraiser the last two years. Board Games and crafts were collected for Cohens Children Hospital including items like coloring books, crayons, markers, play dough, board games, and pads of paper for their young patients. Student council agreed to sponsor this fundraiser again, and turned it into a school event that ended with one class winning a pizza party as their prize for collecting the most points for the items they donated. Student council advisors, Ms. Santoro and Ms. Ryan shared “It was thrilling to see how this healthy competition brought about such generous donations that will benefit and bring joy to children that stay in the hospital.” Mrs. Ragusa’s class won -but it was a very tight race!
