I am so happy to once again be working alongside my excellent colleague, Mr. Craine.Also, I'm excited to welcome two new members to the sixth grade team!  Welcome Ms. Prchal and Ms. Schussler.

The "History" of Me:

I am a proud former student of Lloyd Harbor.  It was a dream of mine to one day return to be a teacher. It gives me great joy to be back teaching Social Studies and Literacy for another academic year at LHS.  I've spent the last fifteen years teaching upper grades and am excited to be teaching sixth grade, again!  On a more personal note, my passions include reading and traveling; especially, to historical sites.  During college, I studied abroad in Rome and concentrated on studies in art-history.  After college, I went on to receive my Masters in Literacy at the University of Pennsylvania.  In addition, prior to working in CSH, I also held a position as a staff developer at Columbia University's Advancing Literacy at Teachers College (formerly known as the Reading / Writing Project).  I'm thrilled to be teaching your children the subjects I have so much affection for.

Communication:

I strongly believe in the phrase "it takes a village".  We all want the best for your child.  I know that the biggest commonality between the Lloyd Harbor community and home is that we all want our children to enter Middle School feeling confident and prepared.  The number one way to ensure this is to have open communication between all the adults in your child's life.  Ensuring their success is a team effort and I'm honored to be on the same team with all of you.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me regarding your child's academic or social-emotional growth. To set up a meeting, you can reach out to me via email or phone.  Although meetings may look a little different this year, we are confident Zoom and/or other platforms will allow us to stay connected.
