Words Their Way

 The fourth grade uses a spelling program called Words Their Way. This hands-on approach to word study helps students learn to examine, manipulate, and categorize words while focusing their attention on the critical features of the words - their sounds, spelling, and meaning. Each week, your fourth grader will study about 20 spelling words using word sorts, the process of grouping words that represent sounds into specific categories.
