The Cold Spring Harbor Drivers Ed Program is only open to students who reside in the Cold Spring Harbor School District.
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and the State Education Department mandate that students complete 24 hours in the classroom and 24 hours behind the wheel in order for a Certificate of Completion (MV-285 formerly Blue Card) to be issued.  All absences must be made up within the same week.  Any student with 3 or more absences (not made up within the week of their absence) in driving and/or lecture will be dropped from the course.

Students must be 16 years of age effective the first day of class and possess a valid New York State Learner’s Permit in order to enroll in the Driver’s Education Program.

Here is a link to the New York State Learner’s Permit practice tests: http://dmv-permit-test.com/new-york/practice-test-1.html  This is a free online service that will help students prepare for the New York State Learner’s Permit test that they will need in order to enroll in the Driver’s Education Program.

Students are scheduled with first priority given to Seniors and secondly, by date of birth (oldest students are taken first).
