Roster Verification

  • 2019-20

THE TAA VERIFICATION SYSTEM IS NOW OPEN (until 11/6)

Certified teaching personnel are required by the State to verify their ePMF (electronic Personnel Master File), online at the Teacher Access and Authorization (TAA) system.  If you’re not sure if you should be participating in this process, please read this FAQ document, then contact me if necessary.

-If you do not have a TAA account please use the TAA User Guide for instructions on creating an account.  Account creation instructions start on page 27 of the guide.

    -To create your TAA account you will need the following items;

    • The last four digits of your Social Security Number
    • Your date of birth
    • Your 7 Digit TEACH ID which can be found at this link or by emailing me.

If you need to reset your account please use the instructions starting on page 32 of the TAA User Guide.  This site is run by NYSED and I cannot reset your password.

The Verification / Assignment  entry window is open until November 6th

-When entering your assignment information, please note that your student counts (titled “Registration” on the form”) is as of 10/2/2019 (BEDS Day).  Teachers who teach multiple sections of the same course must not combine registration numbers. Report each section separately and report the appropriate number of students for each section.

-Report all the courses you teach using the current enrollment numbers.  Include both odd and even day classes, reporting them as separate sections.  Also, include your fall and spring classes with current enrollments.  Fill in as many sections as allowed.  ***The TAA system allows for a maximum of 16 sections to be reported.

-Questions regarding your specific assignment code should be directed to your building principal. A full listing of assignment codes can be found here.

-Any other questions you may have should be answered in the attached manual.  If not, please feel free to reach out to me.

    - Degree Status: This is the highest degree you hold at this time.

    - Professional Development: This shows if you have taken professional development courses that meet No Child Left Behind Title II requirements.  This is not applicable to teachers who are not associated to a school section.

Number of Years Employed in This District: Includes the current year.

Total Years Employed (including nonpub.): Includes the current year. This includes all years of educational teaching experience, including other public school districts, nonpublic schools, BOCES, and college or university experience.

    - Percent of Time Employed in This District: For most, this will be 100%. However, there may be some teachers whose services are shared by more than one district or BOCES who have been teaching only part-time, such as a teacher who teachers mornings only. If you are in one of these categories, this will be the percent of the school year that you actually send in the district.

Number of Months Employed Per Year -  This refers to whether you are currently on a 10-month, 11-month, or 12-month basis.  Even if you receive your salary over a 12-month period, this should be the number of months you are expected to be on the job for the current year.

    - Current Annual Salary: This is the total amount you are paid for your primary assignment(s) in the district.  It does not include extra pay for extra services, such as supervising extra-curricula activities beyond your normal assignment, coaching sports beyond your normal assignment, or similar activities.  It also does not include summer school pay or overtime pay.
