Thank you to everyone for taking the Polar Plunge on Saturday March 29 – including our very own Superintendent Joseph Monastero. Each year, this event is held at Lloyd Harbor Beach and is sponsored by the CSH Marine Biology Club. The club members, along with their advisor Erin Oshan, never expected the day they chose in March would turn out to be a sunny (nearly 80 degree!) day. The air may have been warm, but the water was still freezing! So thanks to all the brave participants. Ms. Oshan shared, “All the money raised goes directly to the NY Marine Rescue Center in Riverhead where they rehab sick seals and sea turtles found on LI shores.”
