Coffeehouse Jam
-
"The Coffeehouse Jam" is a talent show without judges, a gong show without a gong, a circus without a trapeze artist. Held in the ever-so-intimate Cafeteria A on a Friday night in the Autumn and a Friday night in the Spring, the Jam is a showcase for student musicians, singers, entertainers, performers and artists.
Originally conceived by 2008 CSHHS graduates Dorian DeAngelo, Sam Lisabeth and Dan Stern, the Jam is an opportunity for any high school student to get up on stage, in front of his or her peers and perform in a comfortable and mellow setting. In fact, DeAngelo had always hoped that someone would simply make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on stage as a piece of performance art (unfortunately, his wish has yet to be granted).
The first Jam was held in the Fall of 2005. The Fall 2016 Jam on November 18, 2016 will be our 23rd show!
Shows are free.
If you're a Cold Spring Harbor High School student (9-12), who would you like to perform at a Jam, please see Mr. Miller, Alec Israeli or Dan Stern for a sign-up sheet.
